Here are the results for the 2010 Hamilton Fringe Playwright's Contest.
The first place winner is Dianne and Me by Ron Fromstien of Toronto. Ron was a runner up in 2007, the first year the contest was held.
Ron's play will receive a free slot in the 2010 Hamilton Fringe as well as $300 in cash. All of us are looking forward to seeing the play when it opens at the Hamilton Fringe in July.
The first runner-up, is Digging by David Finley of Toronto, Ontario.
The second runner up is Tremble by Judith Skoff of Hoboken, New Jersey, USA.
David and Judith, if they are able to attend the Fringe, will receive a complementary 2010 "fringe-binge" pass.
The application for the 2011 Playwrite's Contest will be online next October.
The 2009 winner of the Hamilton Fringe Playwriting Competition was Michael Wilmot from London, Ontario, for his script, Love Shack. Congratulations Michael! It had a successful run in July here in Hamilton and was also at the London Fringe.
Runners up included The Whore Of Babylon by Rufus F and C Hickok of Hamilton, Ontario, and Goodnight Amherst by James Fanizza of Toronto, Ontario.
The 2008 winner was David B. Fraser with his script, Gerald Hilroy’s Guide To The Art Of Seduction. It played to great houses and critical acclaim in August 2008.
The winner the first year the contest was held in 2007 was Rob Salerno with his play Balls, it later went on to tour right across Canada!
For 2011 it could be your play!
